AlessAlicia
Aleksandra is a contemporary oil painter based in Kraków, Poland. She explores the topic of mental health through the form of surreal motifs. Diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder, she approaches painting as a form of therapy. It’s her way of showing resilience in the face of contemporary shaming of mental health care, creating spaces where people feel understood.
She embraced technology as a new medium for experimentation, a tool to accelerate and transform her creative flow. Aleksandra began shaping her compositions in the digital realm before a single brushstroke touched the canvas. Once painting, she allows intuition to guide her, making spontaneous changes that breathe life into her work. By weaving together traditional techniques and contemporary processes, she continues to expand the boundaries of her artistic expression.
Her ever-evolving style is fueled by experimentation and a love for complexity. Every detail is crafted to captivate the viewer, inviting them on a journey of discovery where each look uncovers something new. Through this process, she has developed her own visual language - an invitation for others to explore the layers of meaning behind each symbol.
Her goal is simple: to make art that speaks when words aren’t enough, and to give people a moment of comfort, while also fighting her own battle.
