I decided to create this series after working on a project for BLOOM pt. 2. During a conversation with a friend, the idea of representing my creative process through the four seasons was born. This concept helped me work through a period of artistic block and gave me a way to better understand the cycles that shape my practice.
Throughout my therapy sessions, I often spoke about my relationship with work and creativity. I began to recognize that my process lacks balance. I tend to move between extremes: periods of intense overworking and periods when my body demands rest, often against my will.
Summer represents my most productive and energetic phase. I work on multiple projects at once, constantly generating new ideas and feeling excited by the possibilities.
As autumn slowly approaches, this excitement begins to shift into stress. I start to worry that I will not have enough time or energy to complete everything I want to do. This pressure gradually takes away the joy of painting, and my motivation begins to fade.
Winter becomes a period of exhaustion, rest, and searching for new inspiration. I feel guilty for not creating as much as I would like to, while struggling with sleep deprivation, a lack of energy, and the need to recover. Eventually, I begin experimenting with something new—a different technique, style, or approach. This unfamiliarity sparks a small sense of curiosity, and with it, the first signs of motivation begin to return.
Then comes spring. The joy of creating slowly comes back. New ideas begin to flow, and I find myself preparing for another summer.
This series reflects the cyclical nature of my creative process. It explores the relationship between productivity and rest, excitement and exhaustion, inspiration and creative block. Rather than presenting creativity as a constant, linear progression, I see it as something seasonal—always changing, disappearing, and eventually returning.
